Meiyazhagan is a story of darkness, light, and extraordinary human goodness. It follows Arul Mozhi Varman, a man carrying deep scars from betrayal, who left Thanjavur swearing never to return. Years later, he reluctantly returns for his beloved cousin's wedding, breaking his vow. Nervous and cynical, he hopes to avoid confrontations with his past. There, he meets Meiyazhagan, a stranger whose simplicity and kindness challenge his hardened outlook.

ದ್ರೋಹಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಎದೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಆಳವಾದ ನೋವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಅರುಳ್‌ಮೊಳಿ ವರ್ಮನ್‌, ಇನ್ನೆಂದೂ ಈ ಊರಿಗೆ ಕಾಲಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಊರು ತೊರೆದಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ದೂರವಿಟ್ಟು, ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಪಾತ್ರ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಯ ಮದುವೆಗೆಂದು ಬಲವಂತದಿಂದ ಅದೇ ಊರಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಹಿ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳಿಸಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಸಿನಿಕತನವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿಯೇ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಳತೆಯೇ ಮೈವೆತ್ತ, ಕರುಣೆಯ ಸಾಗರವೆನಿಸಿದ ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ಮೀಯಳಗನ್‌ನ ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

C. Premkumar, born on November 17, 1977, in Trichy and raised in Tanjore, is an acclaimed Indian filmmaker and cinematographer. A gold medalist from the Madras Film Institute, he won the Tamil Nadu State Award and the Kodak Endowment Award for his short film PARAMAPADAM. After training under Alphonse Roy and Rathinavelu, he debuted as a cinematographer with VARNAM and worked on films like PASANGA, NADUVULA KONJAM PAKKATHA KAANOM, and ORU PAKKA KATHAI. In 2018, Premkumar debuted as a writer-director with the Tamil film 96.
