Jyoti, an aspiring writer, from the Indian State of Assam, is destined to be bedridden as she is diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at a tender age. A battle she is fated to fight for life. Even though life was hostile to her, Jyoti does not let her sufferings take better of her. Torn between her obligations towards her family and her aspirations, she decides to fight against all odds to lead an independent life in becoming an acclaimed author.

ಅಸ್ಸಾಂನ ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿ ಲೇಖಕಿ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ, ಚಿಕ್ಕ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಬೆನ್ನುಹುರಿ ಸ್ನಾಯು ಕ್ಷಯದಿಂದ ಹಾಸಿಗೆ ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಜೀವನ ದುರ್ಬರವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರತಿಕೂಲವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಬದುಕುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವಳ ಹೋರಾಟ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ನೋವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಕಟ್ಟುಪಾಡುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವಳ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೀರಿ ಅವಳು ಜನಮೆಚ್ಚುವ ಲೇಖಕಿಯಾಗುವತ್ತ ತನ್ನ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ತೀವ್ರ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ, ನೋವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ, ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah

Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah is a multiple National (Rajat Kamal) and international award-winning Indian filmmaker. She holds an MA in Assamese Literature, a B.Ed., and a Master’s in Communication and Journalism from Gauhati University, where she also earned her PhD. Awarded the Senior Fellowship by India’s Ministry of Culture in 2014, her films include ADOMYA (2014), SONAR BARAN PAKHI (2016), MISHING (2018), SIKAISAL (2022). RADOR PAKHI (2024) is her recent movie.
