KAANGATHA MOOD follows Ramesha, a young man who has worked on a coffee estate since childhood, deprived of formal education. His life of hard labor leads to alcohol addiction, making him a disruptive presence. Despite his flaws, the estate owner shares a deep, familial bond with him. Isolated and unaware of the world beyond the estate, Ramesha is vulnerable to external influences, adopting new beliefs without understanding them.

ರಮೇಶ ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಕಾಫೀ ಎಸ್ಟೇಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದ ವಂಚಿತನಾದವನು. ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ಜೀವನ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮದ್ಯ ವ್ಯಸನಿಯಾಗಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ತನ್ನ ನ್ಯೂನತೆಗಳ ಹೊರತಾಗಿಯು ಎಸ್ಟೇಟ್‌ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ರಮೇಶನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಎಸ್ಟೇಟ್‌ ಆಚೆಗಿನ ಪ್ರಪಂಚ ತಿಳಿಯದ ರಮೇಶ ಬಾಹ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭಾವಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೊಸ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗಳ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇದು ವಾಸ್ತವವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಸಜ್ಜುಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ದುರಂತ ತಿರುವಿಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತದೆ.
