Twelve-year-old Jayaram Siddi's late grandfather's spirit haunts him. He loses touch with reality. His family embraces tribal rituals and Dammam music to restore his balance and address intergenerational trauma.

ಹನ್ನೆರೆಡು ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಜಯರಾಮ್‌ ಸಿದ್ದಿಯ ತಾತನ ಆತ್ಮ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದೇ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವನನ್ನು ವಾಸ್ತವ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲು ಹಾಗೂ ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳಿಂದ ಬೆಳೆದು ಬಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಆಘಾತಗಳನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ದಮ್ಮಮ್‌ ಸಂಗೀತವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Jayan Cherian

Jayan Cherian, from Kerala, holds an MFA in filmmaking from The City College of New York as well as a BA in film and creative writing from Hunter College. He has received numerous honors and recognition for his cinematic works, which have been featured at prestigious film festivals worldwide. His career features notable titles including KA BODYSCAPES (2016), PAPILIO BUDDHA (2014), THE SHAPE OF THE SHAPELESS (2010), and the much-awaited RHYTHM OF DAMMAM (2024). He has also contributed significantly to numerous documentaries and short films.
