I AM NEVENKA SOY NEVENKA ICÍAR BOLLAÍN

In the year 2000, Nevenka Fernández, the Finance Councillor of Ponferrada Town Council, is relentlessly hounded by the mayor, a man used to getting his way both politically and personally. Nevenka decides to report him, knowing that it will cost her dearly. A story based on true events turning its lead character into a forerunner of the anti-harassment movement due to being the first person to take an influential politician to court for sexual and labour harassment.

ICÍAR BOLLAÍN

Icíar Bollaín, born in Madrid in 1967, began her film career as an actress, appearing in BAD LUCK (1989) and LAND AND FREEDOM (1994). She later transitioned to directing, debuting with HI, ARE YOU ALONE? (1995), followed by FLOWERS FROM ANOTHER WORLD (1999), which won the Mercedes-Benz Prize at Cannes. Her acclaimed TAKE MY EYES (2003) won Goya Awards for Best Director and Screenplay. She co-founded CIMA in 2006, supporting women in film. Notable works include EVEN THE RAIN (2010), KATHMANDU LULLABY (2011), THE OLIVE TREE (2016), and ROSA’S WEDDING (2020), which won awards at Malaga Festival.
