Each year, the family gathers for a pig slaughter at the old folks' place in Osoblaha, a day of tradition, food, and shared moments. This year, however, is different. Grandpa struggles to tell his son-in-law Karel that this will be the last slaughter. Karel’s daughter Romana mourns her mother’s death, while her sister Lucie’s marriage is falling apart. Lucie’s son Dušan is caught between conflicting gender worlds. Uncle Šupina is already drunk, the butcher Tonda hides damp bullets, and the neighbor seeks revenge on everyone for his unhappy life. As the day unfolds, the strength and fragility of familial bonds are tested, revealing the complexities of love, tradition, and unresolved grievances.

ಓಸೊಬ್ಯ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಹಳೆಯ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ಹಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿಯುವ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವಿದೆ. ಈ ನೆಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸದಸ್ಯರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಉಡುಗೆ, ತೊಡುಗೆ, ಆಹಾರ ಮೇಳದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕುಡಿದು, ಕುಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ. ಇದೇ ಕೊನೆ ಇನ್ನೆಂದೂ ನಾನು ಹಂದಿ ಕಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹಿರಿಯಜ್ಜ ತನ್ನ ಅಳಿಯ ಕರೇಲ್‌ಗೆ ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಕರೇಲನ ಮಗಳು ರೊಮಾನ, ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಅವಳ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಲೂಸಿಯಾಳ ಮದುವೆ ಮುರಿದು ಬೀಳುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಚಿಕ್ಕಪ್ಪ ಸುಪಿನಾ ವಿಪರೀತ ಕುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಸುಖವಿಲ್ಲದ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನದ ದುಃಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನೆನೆದು ನೆರೆಯವನು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೇಡು ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹವಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಬದ್ಧತೆ, ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೌರ್ಬಲ್ಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ADAM MARTINEC

Born and raised on the Czech-Polish border with specific love for this part of the country. First, he studied philosophy and film theory in Olomouc, then directing at FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague). Inspired and influenced by the works of current and past film giants, he made several short films, his most notable success is a short film Sugar and Salt shot during his studies at FAMU which toured film festivals all around the world and won several awards.
